Yellow Time of Year

September 18, 2016
I always enjoy watching the daffodils spring up and the wattles burst into bloom at the end of Winter.

It is like the promise of sunshine to come.

Since the front of our property has a lot of Silver wattles and some Blackwoods we get to experience it up close and personal.

Meanwhile, as health permits, we have been working to upgrade our solar system.  We will be going from 1.5kW to 5kW.  Our pole was due to be disconnected last Tuesday, but once again they did not come!  However I guess that gives us more time to prepare so we should not complain.  🙂
We now have a temporary set up of panels, small batteries and a 1000W inverter at the caravan.  We have another 1000W of panels to add to the caravan set up too, and all the panels will ultimately go on the roof there, but for now we at least have some charging happening.

Also we have removed some unused satellite dishes so we could mount another 6 panels on the roof of the main building.  These ones are not yet wired up as we are awaiting the arrival of new batteries to add to our original ones, so that we can go to 24V instead of our current 12V setup.  We managed to pick up two great Latronics 24V inverters second hand which will give us a goodly amount of available power in the shack.

And I will finish with a picture of our growing dog Okami.  She is a sweetie, with her halo of fluff around her face.  So much energy, and relentlessly happy!
